Very tasty Bavarian cuisine at normal prices. Delicious beers such as Hofbräu Weisse. Service was friendly. Unfortunately, we sat a bit sloping, which the uphill street (pedestrian zone) was trained.

Quaint restaurant. Nice service and good tasty food with a good price-performance ratio. Because of this corona, some flair is lost everywhere. There is potential for 5 stars

Cozy brewery with what I think is the best knuckle of leg I've ever eaten, the condition is friendly and helpful too.

The waitress, a young man, was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good! I can recommend it to everyone. We had a great evening and would love to come back.

Was alone as a guest in the Starnbräu. When there was a lot of traffic, I only had to do about 5 minutes. Wait for a seat to be allocated outside. The service was really on the ball. I ate a Wiener Schnitzel 1a. Crunchy parmenade and the meat very tender. In addition a delicious cranberry jam. Good price-performance ratio. Gladly again.

Nice that it's open again. We were very happy about it. Service is super nice and quick. We already knew the team from another restaurant and were very happy to see them again. The dumpling carpaccio was great, only the schnitzel could have been a bit crunchy, otherwise everything was very tasty.

Since the Sperger family withdrew from the Starnbräu, things seem to be looking up. Service and hosts very nice, kitchen cooks very well. From me 5 out of 5 stars

The Starnbräu is a good, typically Bavarian tavern directly in the pedestrian zone of Bad Tölz. It consists of several consecutive rooms. At the front it looks like a normal tavern and further back then are the former brewery facilities and all kinds of things to do with the brewing art to visit. So if it looks full in front, they go backwards. In the first dining room, the central table is the Stammtisch. It is not recommended to sit there without an invitation. The traditional wearers sitting there may look grumpy, but they are fine. The food was very good and is also quaint, for example in the iron pan, served. Especially delicious is the Kaiserschmarrn. The portions are plentiful and the prices are very humane. You can easily go there with child and cone. Of course there is beer as well as a lot of other drinks, hot and cold. We were there several times and the service was always nice, attentive and fast. Problems, as described by other reviewers, did not exist with us. In this respect, I can definitely recommend a visit to the Starnbräu.

Really traditional and very nice music (piano and violon); but be careful, for german people 9pm is really late...I recomend to come early then.

I was there a month ago, everything fine. Yesterday, though: The beer was way below the full line, I had to send the sauteed vegetables and the main dish back, because they were barely luke warm. The vegies came back micro-wave-super-hot. Later, the waiter had to be reminded that we wanted to pay and leave. Still, though, a really beautiful, authentically traditional Bavarian restaurant with good food and great beer (Hofbrauhaus beer). I think I'll try it again, hope for a more attentive waiter.

Great local Gasthaus and old meeting place for veterans. Traditional Bavarian cuisine and a wonderful atmosphere. My friends and I visit every year.

Vegetarian dishes were quite nice but the long wait to order, to be served and then finally to get the bill was too long. We actually wanted to leave at one point and the people at the table next to ours actually gave up after waiting 20 minutes just to get the menu. And the place wasn’t even 50% full so I can’t imagine how long you need to wait when they are fully booked...

Poor quality food, bad service which took half hour just to order drinks and more than an hour for food arrived and smallest portions ever !!! Not very Bavarian.

Very nice Bavarian place. The food is very good and the bear also. I find the portions not they big though but some quite expensive.
